Jane O'Reilly was born in Bradford, a smallish town in Yorkshire best known for David Hockney and curry. Despite liking both of these things, she left the town in the late 1990's to go to university and moved around a bit before eventually settling in another smallish town much closer to London. She started writing when her youngest child was eleven months old as an antidote to kid's TV. Several manuscripts later, she finally wrote one that sold, and went on to write numerous contemporary and erotic romances for Harlequin. But her heart had been lost to a space pirate in an Odeon cinema in 1983, and thirty years later she decided to put that unrequited love into a book. For those of you who haven't already guessed, the film was Return of the Jedi, the pirate was Han Solo, and the book was Blue Shift.
