HOW CAN READERS HELP AUTHORS?
The single most helpful thing a reader can do is to review a book online. It doesn't matter if you loved or hated it, giving it a rating and a line of review is the most important thing. You can review Blue Shift on Amazon here:
Getting a book published is a tricky business. But it's not impossible. There are three key steps: Read. Write. Submit. And keep repeating this until you succeed. If you want more advice, have a look at my blog
WILL YOU CRITIQUE MY WORK?
Unfortunately this isn't something that I can do. But there are lots of ways to get feedback on your work. The BSFA has writing groups run via email, the Romantic Novelists Association offers a critique of a full manuscript via their new writer's scheme, and many writing contests will do this too (such as Romance Writer's of America chapter contests). There will be something for your genre. You just have to find it. And you don't have to spend a lot of money.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
At the moment I am working on a near future thriller called Curfew, in which all men are electronically tagged and not allowed out after 7 p.m.
WHY SHOULD I BUY YOUR BOOK WHEN I CAN DOWNLOAD IT FOR FREE?
If you are downloading the book for free, you are most likely using a pirate site. There are two issues with this - firstly, as the book is effectively stolen, I don't get paid, and secondly, those sites are very dodgy and could infect your computer with malware. If you can't afford to buy a book, please borrow it from a library instead.
ARE YOU ON SOCIAL MEDIA?
No, I'm not. I used to be, but I don't think social media companies have our best interests at heart, so I quit. You can find updates here and on my blog, and you can message me here. If you liked one of my books, please review it on goodreads and amazon.
